A Musical Smorgasbord

Lately I have been doing a lot of self evaluating. I just feel like it’s a good thing from time to time to take a step back and look closely at habits and trends as of late. I just know that there are always gonna be areas I can improve on and all that jazz. For example, one thing I really need to focus on right now is getting back in the habit of working out consistently. Gotta get back in that gym.

Ya know, funny thing. I was thinking about what I have been listening to (musically) lately, and I had a good laugh about it. I think that I am realizing that I am really just a full on MUSIC fan. Not just a pop fan, or a worship music fan, but an all encompassing lover of well put together progressions and solid melodies and the like. You would think that over the years, one would fine tune his or her taste….funneling their favorites and focusing in on one great genre they dig. Nah. Not for me. I think I might be the opposite. I started STRICTLY listening to punk stuff, then moved on to STRICTLY Christian acoustic stuff, and from there it just all branched out like crazy, to the point of where if you looked at my iPod, you would probably laugh and call me names; Yes. I’m realizing that my taste in music is so wide and diverse that people who witness this would resort to name-calling. Case in point: the disc changer in my car RIGHT NOW.

1. Anberlin – New Surrender (advance copyyyyyyy)
2. Hillsong – This is Our God
3. Sigur Ros – Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spillum Endalaust
4. Carrie Underwood – Some Hearts (just getting into this one)
5. Rascal Flatts – Still Feels Good
6. Katy Perry – One of the Boys (say what you want….ridiculously great, well crafted pop music.)

Yuhhh.
